"After being paralyzed at the age of 16 by a tumor in my spine, I returned to college to study exercise physiology and nutrition. Following my own exercise and nutrition program, I rebuilt my body and went on to become one of 16 contenders on the Hit TV show The American Gladiators.

I have worked with Dr. Robert Schuller, and I have been the featured guest on the 700 Club with Pat Robertson to share my story of recovery. I do not say this to brag, but to show that I am a hard worker and determined to succeed at whatever I do. Once I set my sites on a goal, I will not give up until I have achieved it.

 

 While in California, after the production of the American Gladiators, I became a production assistant for the syndicated television program The Home Show: with Sarah Purcell, Gary Collins and Will Shriner, where I learned the ins and outs of TV production.

After the cancellation of the Home Show I started a Health and Fitness Company that included a Nationally Syndicated Television show called: 'Eternally Fit, Getting Fit with Jim.' This daily TV program allowed me to hone my skills as both an interview host as well as a producer.

Because of the high demand for quality TV infomercial productions, in 2000 we started a Production Company now known as Quantum Leap Television based in Greer SC.  I have written, co-written, hosted and or appeared in at least 50 TV and radio infomercials.

I also wanted to mention that I have been blessed to have been able to marry my best friend Julie. For over 10 years she has been my partner in business and in life, and I am honored to be her husband. Everything that I do is to provide the best life possible for her and our family.

War does not increase death! Sooner or later we all die. All a person can really do is speed up or slow down that process!

If the incidence of obesity and its related disease continue to skyrocket, how will we deal with it as a society, and as a nation? Presently, our only reaction is to reform our health care system so that anyone who gets sick or diseased will be guaranteed medical treatment. But in reality, health care reform has nothing to do with increasing the amount of MRI machines, building bigger hospitals, or even obtaining cheaper health insurance. True health-care reform can only take place when an individual finally begins to take personal responsibility for his or her own health, and stops abdicating that responsibility to a third party, like the government, an insurance company, or even a personal physician. Because trust me, THEY don't want you to be healthy! THEY need you to get sick and take their medications, they are BANKING on it!

If I can get even ONE of you reading this to get more involved in your health, and the health of your family and loved ones, then my life was a success. All I want people to do is stop and think: What if? What if today YOU decided to eat LESS processed food? What if today YOU decided to follow my antioxidant theory of disease prevention and YOU started eating more whole foods? What if YOU decided to quit smoking? What if YOU decided to begin a daily exercise routine? What if your health or lack thereof was ALL up to YOU? What would YOU do about it? Only one way to find out! There is NO better person to take care of YOU, then YOU!
